Green Job Search & Energy Auditing Oppurtunity

Hi everyone, I am a Bing Alumni 2010, and will be going to grad school for Berkeley this Fall. Some people may not know me, but I was the treasurer for CCC three-two years ago.

The job market is currently in terrible shape and job opportunities are at a bare minimum in all fields. The job market for the environmental field has been flaky for many years but the Obama administration has put emphasis to promote green jobs. BUTT these green jobs are mostly manufacturing and maintenance jobs, not the typical training we utilize in Binghamton.

So I suggest everyone start making connections and contacting NGOs, environmental, and energy firms very early. I was an intern for non-profit group Envirolution for two summers. In the 1st year, I maintained green job network. Here are some links you can use for future references and/or look for jobs.

The second year, I was Monitoring and Evaluation Director of the Win-Win campaign. Details of the campaign can be seen here.

In concise terms, the program will train interns the interpersonal and technical skills needed to be an energy auditor [personnel who assess the efficiency of buildings and rooms]. The program is free, but requires considerable effort to complete satisfactorily. These is high demand for energy auditors in many states. If anyone is interested in this opportunity, please email me and I can vouch a recommendation on your behalf.

PS Hope everyone has a productive summer =D
