Just wanted to let you know that Slow Food USA is hosting events across the country this Saturday (Sept. 25) to promote local food. There are a bunch happening in New York, but I think the best and closest one is:

We want to invite everyone to come out and join us on Saturday September 25 for a great event! Greater Plains FROG is sponsoring a Local Food Festival that will take place at the school from 1- 4 pm. There will guest chefs preparing recipes with sutdents using local ingredients, lots of yummy local food for sampling, music, storytelling, crafts, games & much more! Please join us to make this event a success! Sponsored through the Pure Catskills Buy Local campaign, an economic initiative of the Watershed Agricultural Council. Funding is provided by the WAC, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
